College application can be such an overwhelming process. There are so many choices and it can be very difficult deciding which is the right choice for your child. Simply trying to identify what each particular college is looking for is a challenge in itself. Dr. Khia’s experience and knowledge helped our daughter narrow down her choices. The detailed framework she used allowed our daughter to stay on track with deadlines. Working with her took the guesswork out and she was always following up with encouragement and support.
I am a first generation student so neither my parents nor I had any idea how to accurately enter this process, so I sought out help from Dr. Khia. What I really appreciate most is her honesty. Not many people are willing to tell you where you stand. Dr. Khia let me know where I underappreciated my own talents. She helped set me up for success. She put a lot of time into aiding with college research, essays, recommendations, and even my interviews.
The college application process was new and absolutely overwhelming for our family, not knowing where and how to start, and all the different deadlines. Working with Dr. Khia was truly a blessing – the ability to have a personal road map, with alerts and reminders, giving a view of the tasks accomplished, helped to ease the enormity of the task ahead. She offers an invaluable services to assist families.
Dr. Khia is very knowledgeable about the college experience. Anyone fearing the high cost of a college education or who may be a first generation college prospect would do well to consult with her about their educational endeavors.
Working with Dr. Khia is like having an anchor throughout the process. It is something you can attempt on your own, but having someone to guide and encourage you makes the process 100 times easier and more manageable. I had someone to go to, not just for advising, but personally – someone who was truly in my corner – each step of the way to keep me moving forward. I credit a lot of my success in being admitted to working with her.
I’m naturally a very gifted writer but like most, I was intimidated with writing my statement of purpose. I wanted to convey all of my passion without sounding cliché; I wanted to be sure that everything I said in two pages was impactful enough to gain admission to the schools of my choice. Dr. Khia read between the lines of what I’d written to really pull out what I wanted to articulate. The end result is a statement of purpose that has been highly praised by all that read it.
I felt lost and confused when first sitting down to write my personal statement. I had so many ideas swirling around in my head but didn’t know how to focus them into a concise statement. Bouncing ideas off of you and getting quick and informative feedback made the writing process much more bearable. The guidance you gave me well exceeded my expectations.
I initially expected a proofreading service, but Dr. Khia’s guidance taught me things about my passion for my field as well as gave me insight on what potential professors and admissions committees are looking for. I was able to fine tune my statement of purpose that truly spoke to who I am and what makes me unique.
I’m a nontraditional student. After receiving my bachelors degree I took many years off to homeschool my children. Now that they’re older, I’m interested in pursuing a graduate degree. I wasn’t sure how to address the large gap in my resume, but Dr. Khia and I brainstormed and identified many ways to highlight key strengths earned during those years that I could emphasize in my applications.
